City Credentials

The City of Pasadena requires that all archers carry a city-issued Safety Certification Card while using the Lower Arroyo Archery Range from sunrise to sunset, Monday through Friday, and from 2:30 pm to sunset on weekends. In order to obtain the certification card, all archers must participate in a range safety course.

The Safety Card is not required when participating in PRA classes on Saturday mornings.

The Pasadena Roving Archers developed the City Safety Certification curriculum to familiarizes archers with range rules, target layout, and safe practices expected of all archers using the range. Classes are open to registered applicants only and held on the first and third Saturday of every month, from 8 am to 9 am, at the main range. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before class to check-in.

At the conclusion of your course, your contact information and record of completion will be electronically submitted to the City of Pasadena on your behalf. The city will then directly mail your City Safety Certification Card to the address on your application and is valid for 3 years.

While it is not required, please feel free to ask a PRA instructor for a courtesy equipment inspection.

For additional information about range rules, applicable laws, and enforcement, please contact the Pasadena Police Department or Pasadena Roving Archers.

If you are not able to attend class on a Saturday, we occasionally offer the class during the week. Please email us at weekdayclasses@rovingarchers.com if you are interested in a midweek class.
