The Animal Round is similar to 3D archery, but uses 2D paper animal targets mounted on cardboard. Distances are marked, giving everyone a fair shot—literally!
Each target is shot using up to three arrows, marked #1, #2, and #3:
Start at the farthest YELLOW marker and shoot arrow #1.
If you hit a scoring zone, you stop shooting.
If you miss, move up to the next marker and shoot #2, and repeat once more if needed.
Only one arrow counts, and you get the most points for hitting early and accurately.
Scoring (per arrow):
Arrow #1: 21 (X-ring), 20 (Vital), 18 (Wound)
Arrow #2: 17 (X), 16 (Vital), 14 (Wound)
Arrow #3: 13 (X), 12 (Vital), 10 (Wound) The highest possible score is 588 points.
Distance Markers
Shooting positions are marked with YELLOW stakes, with yardage clearly labeled.
Archers always begin at the farthest marker and move forward only if a shot is missed.
