Pasadena Roving Archers JOAD Club
Pasadena Roving Archers is pleased to sponsor the PRA JOAD archery club. The National Archery Association has created the Junior Olympic Archery Development Program (JOAD) for young archers who seek higher level instruction and competition.
Young archers participate at their own pace in tournaments and qualifying rounds to progress through achievement levels. The highest level is Gold Olympian. Within the JOAD program, there are three age groups, 16-18, 12-15, and those under 12. There are male and female divisions and two equipment styles. Membership in Pasadena Roving Archers and the National Archery Association (NAA) are required to participate. A world of opportunity awaits the young archers who excel in this program.
Many young people are more comfortable competing in individual sports rather than team sports. Archery is a terrific opportunity for young athletes to develop individual competitive skills. The JOAD program is a great way for young archers to meet and compete with others in a safe and supportive environment.
The JOADs meet every Saturday morning at 10:00AM at Target 1, directly across from the foot-bridge. The program is open to archers age 8-20, subject to instructor approval. Archers should have their own equipment to participate in the JOAD program. Beginners may use PRA instructional equipment while they are getting started.
